The G-Prime SLVR1 Power Supply was originally designed as a mobile robot power supply, but it found many more uses.
Feed it 8-20VDC, to get a solid 5V supply via several means. Of special note is a built-in USB-A jack for Arduino or iPod charging (yes, appropriate data line resistors included!)
Technical Specs:
- Typical Input Voltage Range: 8-12VAC/VDC (Bypass bridge rectifier to use lower 6VDC input power)
- Maximum Input Voltage: 20VDC
- Output Voltage: 5VDC
- Output Current: In excess of 1A (Higher input voltages reduce maximum output current)
Features:
- AC/DC input power supply compatible
- Power switch - turn the power supply off for battery powered projects
- LED power indicator
- Multiple Power Inputs via:
- 2.1mm Barrel Jack
- .200" Holes ideal for terminal blocks, or large gauge wire soldering
- 2x4 .100" header for either male or female header pins.
- Multiple output Outputs via:
- .200" Holes - ideal for terminal blocks, or large gauge wire soldering
- 2x8 .100" Header for either male or female header pins to be used. Lots of connection points!
- USB A socket - Power your USB devices (such as your Arduino) directly from the power supply with a standard USB cable.
- USB Data lines can use pullup resistors to 5V
- Utilizes the popular LM2940 IC chip, featuring:
- 1A Output current capability
- Internal short circuit current limit
- Reverse-installation protection
- Includes two 330uF cushion capacitors to deliver power to your projects when they demand it!
This unit is modifiable for additional performance - add a bigger heatsink for supplying higher current. Or replace the IC for different voltages, or to utilize a high-efficiency switching voltage regulator!
